Our ecotourism projects for groups or individuals
In a group, it is an opportunity to work with qualified and experienced supervisors. You will be working together on a common project, sometimes with different tasks, depending on the size of your group. As for solo travellers, they are never really alone! From the very beginning of the assignment, you are part of a multicultural team with whom you share your experiences, your daily life, and your free time.
Ecotourism: definition, examples and how to go
Freepackers offers projects that combine cultural immersion, ecotourism, discovering a new country and commitment to protecting the environment. In practice, through these missions, you act to preserve local ecosystems. Join a multicultural team and contribute to sustainable development.
But what is sustainable development? It means meeting the needs of today's society without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own. It rests on three pillars: the social, economic and environmental dimensions. Our projects strive to take all 3 aspects into account by including exchange and awareness workshops. Working with local communities, and showing them that the process benefits them, is the guarantee of a lasting commitment to protecting ecosystems.
The environment is a particularly broad field. It covers all ecosystems, on land and at sea, and there are many ways to preserve them. Freepackers missions cover renovating infrastructure with a more ecological aim as well as land management, pollution clean-up and reforestation. The environment is a universal commitment: participants come from all over the world to join these ecotourism projects! It is a chance to exchange and share with a team brought together by the same values.
Concrete examples of environmental projects with Freepackers
- Marine conservation: protecting and studying marine mammals and birds, beach clean-ups, coral restoration, etc.
- Environmental conservation: restoring natural habitats, pollution clean-up, awareness raising, waste treatment, etc.
- Farm experience: discovering new farming methods on organic farms, permaculture techniques, eco-centres, etc.
