Planeta First

Planeta First has a clear goal: to redefine the way we travel and discover the world. Designed as an alternative to mainstream tourism, our itineraries are for those who want to explore a country consciously: with meaning, human connection, and a positive impact.

Real immersion, at the country’s pace

Our itineraries are designed for travelers whether you’re going solo, with a group, or with your family. Some of our projects are open to young people from age 16. The goal is to set off on an enriching journey: nature, culture, traditions, encounters, local workshops… With Planeta First, you don’t “consume” a destination: you truly live it.

Day after day, you’ll take part in authentic experiences such as traditional workshops (cooking, dance, weaving, pottery…), meetings with local communities, cultural discoveries, outdoor activities (trekking, canoeing, surfing), as well as yoga and meditation depending on the program.

Strong values, carried by local actors

Each itinerary is organized and supervised by a local NGO, run by people from the country who understand local realities and work alongside communities.

We visit every project to validate its ethics and the quality of supervision, and we stay in constant contact with our partners.

Traveler feedback also allows us to make quick adjustments when needed. A donation is included in the price to support the development of volunteering projects (education, construction, environment, animal protection).

Travel formats to match your preferences

Planeta First offers four main itinerary families:

  • Cultural: discover traditions and the country’s history, with immersion and exchanges with locals.
  • Spiritual: enjoy moments of relaxation (yoga, meditation) for a full reconnection and a calmer trip that’s just as rich in discoveries.
  • Adventure: explore the country and its landscapes on treks, and take part in sports activities to enjoy nature and wildlife.
  • Road trip: travel across a country to understand its full richness through itineraries designed to reveal its depth and diversity.

Some tours include time for volunteering, so you can actively contribute to positive projects—education, environmental initiatives, animal welfare, construction… The projects are diverse. We invite you to browse our programs for full details.

A bridge to Freepackers

Planeta First is part of the Freepackers continuum: the idea is to extend immersion and go further than a simple trip. Before or after your itinerary—depending on what you want: you can continue with a Freepackers volunteering program to experience the country even more fully, commit to a useful project, meet more local communities, and give tangible meaning to your impact.

Some of our Planeta First itineraries also already include participation in community projects, allowing you to enjoy a fully purpose-driven trip.

How to travel with Planeta First, in practical terms

It’s simple. You can browse the programs on our website, then schedule a call with our team, who will support you and guide you toward the project that fits you best.

On site, accommodation in a shared house or a hotel is arranged. Meals are generally included, and there is 24/7 assistance available. You’ll find all the details on our program pages, and we’re here to answer any questions if needed.

Itineraries last from 1 to 4 weeks and are available across many destinations. With Planeta First, you choose a trip that matters: immersive, respectful, human, and one that directly supports local actors. Explore our itineraries, find the one that suits you, and contact our team to plan your departure: your next adventure can also become a commitment.
