How we travel

Freepackers gets you involved, Planeta First gets you travelling.

Why travel differently
  • Local guides and hosts who show you their region from the inside.
  • A pace that leaves time to meet people, taste and understand.
  • Part of the price goes to local projects, and the places you visit are respected.

Your questions

What is Planeta First?

The responsible travel brand of Freepackers: tours from one day to three weeks, designed with our local partners.

How is it different from a Freepackers programme?

A programme means joining a project alongside a local team. A tour means discovering a country at your own pace, with local guides and hosts. Only the road trips combine both: they mix travel with a period of volunteering.

Can I add a tour to a programme?

Yes. On a programme page, or when you fill in your enquiry, you can add a tour in the same country, before or after. The same team arranges both.

How do I book a tour?

Send your enquiry from the tour page, with no commitment. The team gets back to you, confirms the dates with you and answers your questions.

What does the price include?

Each tour page details what is and is not included, along with the day-by-day itinerary. If in doubt, the team will answer before you book.

Want to get involved?

Freepackers also runs volunteer programmes in these countries, to combine with a tour.
