The tour

Buenos Aires runs on pure energy: vast avenues, parks full of people sharing mate, street art on every corner. This three-day tour takes you there from Córdoba on an overnight sleeper bus, for a weekend of architecture, lively neighbourhoods and tango.

With local guides you explore the city by bike, from Puerto Madero to Recoleta and Palermo, head to La Boca and its Caminito, take a boat along the waterfront and spend an evening at a tango show with a traditional Argentine dinner. Sunday is more relaxed, with the San Telmo antiques market and Avenida de Mayo.

The tour is open to travellers aged 18 and over, and is especially suited to those staying in Córdoba: the Sunday night bus gets you back in time for Monday.

What makes it different

  • Buenos Aires by bike with a local guide
  • La Boca and the Caminito, by land and by water
  • A tango evening with an Argentine dinner
  • San Telmo market on a Sunday

Day by day

Thursday night: leaving Córdoba

Meet at Córdoba bus station and board an overnight sleeper bus (cama or semi-cama) to Buenos Aires. It saves a night’s accommodation and you arrive in the morning.

Day 1: arrival and the city by bike

Arrival in the morning at Retiro station, then on to the Milhouse Hostel in the city centre. In the afternoon, a three-hour guided bike tour: grand French-style buildings, Puerto Madero, Retiro, Recoleta, Palermo and its parks. In the evening, the Milhouse 'previa' at the hostel bar, a good place to meet other travellers before heading out into the nightlife.

Day 2: La Boca, the port and tango

With your guide, the Caminito in the La Boca neighbourhood, a wander through the markets and a walking tour of the centre. A boat trip between Puerto Madero and La Boca, with views of the skyline and the colourful port. One evening of the stay is given over to tango: a traditional Argentine dinner followed by a show.

Day 3: San Telmo and the night bus home

A late breakfast at the hostel, then the San Telmo antiques market, a Sunday classic, for souvenirs and street performers. A free afternoon on Avenida de Mayo or over a final steak. In the evening, the overnight bus back to Córdoba, arriving on Monday.
