The project
In these programmes, you have the opportunity to participate in agricultural and environmental projects focused on sustainability, working alongside eco-centers and organic and educational farms.
These initiatives, located in rural areas of Ireland, aim to promote an environmentally friendly lifestyle. You will take part in various activities such as growing organic vegetables, building eco-friendly homes, and maintaining natural habitats.
The goal is to contribute to these programmes to enhance their positive impact while raising your awareness of sustainable practices.
You can combine the eco-center programme with the farm programme.

Eco-Center Programme
In this programme, you can join two eco-centers: one specializes in organic vegetable cultivation, while the other focuses on sustainable construction (tiny houses).
These eco-centers host various events such as workshops, training sessions, and conferences. They feature multiple organic fruit and vegetable gardens as well as wooded areas. These locations promote a sustainable lifestyle with a low environmental impact.
As a volunteer, you will participate in various tasks, including:
- Maintaining organic gardens and outdoor spaces
- Infrastructure upkeep
- Providing administrative and organizational support
- Preparing meals using local and organic products
Organic and Educational Farm Programme
In this programme, the farms aim to preserve and enhance Ireland’s natural habitats. To achieve this, they raise free-range chickens, livestock, and bees, while also cultivating organic fruits and vegetables.
These farms also play an educational role by welcoming visitors, including school and community groups, to raise awareness about sustainable farming practices.
Your role will involve participating in the following tasks:
- Maintaining fruit and vegetable gardens
- Assisting with various outdoor tasks
- Feeding the animals
- Helping with general farm maintenance

Projects chosen with care and followed through regular visits on site.
Accommodation and meals
The eco-center project provides on-site accommodation in shared rooms. Volunteers live as a community and share the running of the house (shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc.).
The organic farm / permaculture project provides accommodation with a host family on a full-board basis.

To be confirmed depending on the project and the type of accommodation.
Arrival and transfers
You will spend your first night in Cork at a hostel. Located in the city center, it is just a few minutes’ walk from shops and key landmarks.
After check-in, you will have free time to rest and explore the surroundings.
On the morning of the second day, participants meet the local team at the hostel reception for a 3 to 4 hour orientation session covering various aspects of the programme, followed by a city tour.
At the end of the second day, participants are taken to the bus or train station to travel to their project location.

How long are you going for?
This programme is available all year round. Arrivals on Mondays in Cork. For durations longer than 12 weeks, please contact us. Programme fees apply to the Eco-center project. If you wish to join the sustainable farming project (homestay option), extra fees apply.
