Our Mission

3 – Promoting intercultural learning, where everyone remains active and engaged throughout the experience.

4 – Democratizing humanitarian action – Working hand in hand with local communities across 35+ countries so that everyone can make a difference in their own way.

Freepackers – A Purpose-Driven Organization

Freepackers Travels, a B Corp-certified organization, promotes international mobility and cultural openness through youth volunteer projects and summer camps, immersive experiences and cultural exchanges. Our international programs are designed with educational, learning and cultural purposes at their core.

Freepackers Travels S.L.U. is a Spanish company registered in Barcelona, Spain, with VAT number ESB67144766.

Since Freepackers was founded, €1.3 million has been invested in local partners, and more than 3,000 participants have taken part in social and environmental projects.

A Mission That Guides Our Decisions

Our mission is at the heart of everything we do. It guides the partners we choose, the educational trips, language immersion programs and projects we create, and the way we work with participants, our team and host communities.

We believe that international experiences can be a powerful force for learning, connection and positive change. We consider the social and environmental impact of our decisions, listen to our stakeholders and use their feedback to continuously improve the way we operate.

Approval and Monitoring of Our Mission

This mission was approved on April 7, 2023, by Justine Trembicki, Director and Founder of Freepackers Travels SLU. Its implementation and the social and environmental impact of our activities are reviewed as part of our management review process.

Freepackers Team

Who is Freepackers?

Anaëlle and Maëlia are two passionate travellers who believe in the power of meaningful travel. Their goal is to share their experiences from international projects and make these opportunities accessible to as many people as possible. They know our projects inside out and are here to reassure you, advise you and encourage you to step outside your comfort zone.

Judith is our Communications Manager and a passionate traveller who has become a true ambassador for Freepackers projects. From FAQs and blog articles to videos, she is here to inspire you, answer your questions and help you feel confident about your experience.

Anaëlle and Nicolas lead our presentations, conferences, training sessions and information meetings. They also develop institutional partnerships with organizations such as France Travail, as well as schools, universities, high schools and other organizations supporting international mobility for young people.

Our long-standing technical team brings our projects and ideas to life. Lara is our graphic designer, Sylvain our web developer, and Nelly leads our digital marketing.

Justine, the founder of Freepackers, coordinates the whole team and ensures that our projects and activities remain aligned with our mission and values.

We share our knowledge and expertise to promote exchange, learning and personal transformation. For each of us, our professional journey, our view of the world and, in some cases, our lives have been shaped by our decision to go abroad. Making international mobility accessible through inclusive projects is what motivates and inspires us every day. We are proud to help people become more engaged global citizens through high-quality international educational experiences and meaningful projects that are accessible to everyone.

A Word from Justine, Founder

I founded Freepackers in 2010 to encourage young people to experience international mobility and to create opportunities to take part in meaningful projects abroad. I personally took two gap years, travelling around the world, taking part in a Working Holiday program and volunteering internationally.

My journey in numbers: 15 years in the travel industry, 30 international volunteer projects, 2 trips around the world, 52 countries visited and 2 Erasmus exchanges.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to build a network of trusted projects and meet passionate people around the world. These international experiences and the personal growth they brought me inspired me to share what I had learned and make it accessible to as many people as possible.

Since 2020, a pivotal year that challenged many of our assumptions and ways of working, we have been working tirelessly to find new funding solutions that can make international mobility accessible to everyone.

B Corp Certified since 2024

We are proud to announce that Freepackers and Realstep are Certified B Corporations!

B Corps are for-profit companies that use business as a force for good, helping build a more inclusive, equitable and sustainable economy for people and the planet. This growing global community is driving cultural change and helping redefine what business success can mean.

The goal is to create a positive impact for all stakeholders while meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability.

B Corp certification is one of the few certifications that assesses a company as a whole, rather than a specific product or service. It helps people identify businesses whose mission and values align with their own.

As Certified B Corporations, Freepackers and Realstep are committed to:

  • Educating people about social and environmental challenges and empowering them to take action;
  • Advocating for inclusive programs that make sustainable projects accessible to people around the world;
  • Helping reduce poverty while promoting dignity, opportunity and a sense of purpose;
  • Reducing our carbon footprint and sharing good practices with our partners and community;
  • Exploring innovative ideas and new ways of working that can deepen and expand our positive impact.

We are incredibly proud of our B Corp certification — and we could not have achieved it without our partners and participants. This certification is as much your achievement as it is ours.

Together, we can help build a more inclusive, sustainable and impactful model of international mobility.
