About Destination and Volunteer Opportunities

About Namibia

Namibia is a country located on the southwestern coast of Africa. It is known for its epic landscapes. The Namib Desert stretches along the Atlantic coastline with its majestic dunes. It has several protected parks and reserves to celebrate and protect its rich plant and animal life. One notable park is Etosha National Park, home to the Etosha Pan, in the north of the country.

Windhoek is the capital and largest city of Namibia. The official language of Namibia is English, though there are also many commonly spoken indigenous languages such as Oshiwambo, Otjiherero, and Nama. Namibia’s economy relies heavily on agriculture, tourism, and mining mineral resources such as diamonds, uranium and copper.
