This dog rescue program in Croatia supports the welfare and protection of dogs and cats at a local shelter. Pet shelters play an important role in Croatia due to the large number of abandoned animals. Shelters are often overcrowded, and rely on volunteers to give the animals time and love, to care for them and give them a chance at adoption.
Shelters also aim to raise awareness about animal care, reduce abandonment rates and help find homes for stray dogs.
