This program supports the welfare and protection of dogs and cats at a local shelter. Pet shelters play an important role in Croatia due to the large number of abandoned animals. Shelters are often overcrowded, and rely on volunteers to give the animals time and love, to care for them and give them a chance at adoption.
Shelters also aim to raise awareness about animal abandonment, reduce abandonment rates and help find homes for stray dogs.
Duties vary from day to day, but may include:
Accommodation in a youth hostel, in a 20-person dormitory in rooms for women or mixed rooms (private rooms available upon request). Free 24/7 WIFI.
Three meals per day, every day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner (local style). Vegetarian, gluten-free, and lactose-free meals are also available upon request.
