Freepackers is committed to ethical behaviour and sound values among its participants, both with regards to the team and with regards to the local projects. Here are some of our commitments!

We visit the projects to ensure their ethical standards, supervision, and the values upheld by the host organization.
We are in contact with our NGO partners every week.
We know the projects and NGOs personally. This is why we present ourselves as experts, thanks to our in-depth knowledge of the missions we offer.
As part of our criteria for sustainable impact and standards that respect human rights, our partner projects must:

Ensuring that our projects meet high ethical standards means making sure they contribute to sustainable development. But what exactly does sustainable development mean?
Simply put, it means meeting the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It is based on three key pillars: social, economic and environmental.
Our projects contribute to sustainable development across several areas, with a focus on Community, Environmental and Animal Welfare.
We also contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030. For example, our humanitarian projects working with local communities help promote quality education for all, in line with SDG 4.

Freepackers is an independent organization that connects local projects with volunteers. We do this through a dedicated guidance and recruitment process, helping you choose a mission that matches both your expectations and the needs of the local community.
We work closely with both projects and volunteers through research and project assessment, ensuring that skills and expertise are matched with local needs. We have been supporting volunteers since 2014, and we continue to improve and refine our approach thanks to your feedback and experiences.
Through a phone interview and an application form (including your CV and motivation letter), we identify the project that best suits your profile and expectations.
Freepackers provides personalized support before, during and after every mission, ensuring continuous follow-up, responsive assistance and a high-quality experience throughout your project.

At Freepackers, we believe that responsible communication is essential to building trust with all our stakeholders and to fulfilling our mission: promoting responsible international experiences with a positive social and environmental impact.
The purpose of this policy is to set out the principles that guide all our marketing, communication and public relations activities, ensuring that all information we share is accurate, transparent, respectful and based on verifiable facts.
This policy applies to all employees, external collaborators and third parties carrying out communication or marketing activities on behalf of Freepackers.

At Freepackers, we believe that travelling with a real impact starts with respecting people. Not as a statement of principle, but in practice: in every project, with every community, and with every person who travels with us or works alongside us.
Our commitment to human rights is guided by the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the International Bill of Human Rights and the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. But beyond these international frameworks, we see this as a responsibility we genuinely take on: towards our team, participants, partner organizations, service providers and the local communities we work with.
In practice, this means:
Freepackers is a B Corp-certified company. This means being accountable to an independent organization and to the people who place their trust in us. Human rights are not just a page on our website: they are an integral part of the way we work every day.

Our communications must represent people respectfully, avoid stereotypes, and recognize the important role of local organizations and professionals. Our Inclusive Communication and Ethical Content Guide sets out the principles that apply to written content, images, testimonials and content created with the support of artificial intelligence.
See the guide: Inclusive Communication and Ethical Content Guide.
