This international humanitarian construction project was launched to support the local community by rebuilding part of what was destroyed after the cyclone. Based in the Sigatoka region, this project is a fantastic opportunity during a humanitarian trip to work hand in hand with the local community in general and to contribute to the renovation of schools in particular.
In addition to ongoing projects, you can also participate in landscaping the surroundings, painting local schools, and renovating classrooms. Many of the schools we work with lack the necessary funds to modernize their classrooms or build libraries and information centers. This is where we step in.
In many regions of Fiji, thousands of families live in inadequate housing, and children attend school in unsafe buildings. Our construction project aims to establish new, higher-quality structures so that children can receive an education in comfortable and secure classrooms. On average, you will work about 6 hours per day on the project.
“Family” projects are suitable for children from the age of 4. Our advisors will provide personalized recommendations based on the age of your children, the destination, and the type of mission.
On Monday, after breakfast, you will start planning the project with the assigned coordinator. Once the project is planned and you have received all relevant information about your mission, you will have lunch before heading to the worksite. After completing your day’s work, you will participate in a debriefing session with your coordinator about the first day of your project.
For the rest of the week, your day will start a bit earlier. You will be taken to the worksite and assigned specific tasks for the day.
A coordinator will be present to guide you throughout the project. After lunch, you will continue with construction and renovation activities on the international humanitarian project.
Every Sunday.
All our international construction and renovation missions are open to everyone and can also host engineers and students as part of an accredited internship.
