“Family” projects are designed for children aged 4 and up. Our advisors will provide personalized recommendations based on your children’s ages, the destination, and the type of mission.
This project is based in a public elementary school in Cusco, teaching girls in the mornings and both girls and boys in the afternoons. In each classroom there are between 30 to 40 children and are all children from the local community, so you’ll be able to make a real impact on the surrounding community in Cusco.
Working as a teacher abroad in Peru will also help you gain priceless work experience, meet some great friends and like-minded people along the way and most importantly, make a real impact through volunteering.
Our sports teaching program in Cusco is held in the same elementary school. The aim of the program is to empower girls through sport, using physical education as a method for promoting leadership, teamwork and communication, self-confidence and healthy living. Empowering girls in communities is vital to encourage social mobility and development, so you’ll really be able to help the community in a lasting way.
Your teaching schedule will be given to you on arrival, but the teaching day is Monday- Friday, with mornings from 8am-1pm and afternoon hours from 1pm-5.45pm. This schedule leaves you with plenty of time to travel and experience the local area at the weekends.
If you opt to teach sports, the sports lessons are held on a sports field approximately 15 minutes’ walk from the school. Each day will be different, so you’ll be able to utilise and develop your sports teaching skills through fun, varied work.
