NGO project: construction in Cambodia

NGO project: construction in Cambodia

Volunteers will participate in the renovation of one of the projects launched by the association. You don’t need to have any experience in construction, just the desire to help and not be afraid to get your hands dirty. Please note that the projects change according to the season. Here are a few projects that have been done by groups of volunteers in recent years, as a guide:

1. Renovation of an educational center for children. The small local schools need a good makeover to make them welcoming and warm to the children. Previous volunteers have renovated the sanitary facilities, kitchens and a common room for meals.

2. Creating gardens and green spaces. In addition to the renovation work, volunteers are used to beautify the area and educate the local people/children about the importance of and respect for the environment.

A typical day on a construction mission in Cambodia

8:00 am : departure time to reach the project site.

9:00 am: meeting, explanation of the objectives of the day and beginning of the work.

12:00 noon: lunch break.

1:00 pm: back to work on the project.

3:30 pm: clean up and return to the accommodation.

Evening: discussion and preparation of work for the next day.

Construction internships for engineering students

Construction and renovation missions in Cambodia mainly involve handling, decorating, gardening…. light work suitable for short term missions or combined with a volunteer project in schools.

We invite engineering students looking for long term internships to visit the construction in Nepal and construction in Fiji pages, areas particularly affected by natural disasters that require qualified manpower and offer large building sites.
