Farm project in Senegal

Program description

In this French-speaking program in Senegal, open to young people aged 16 and over, you will join an NGO involved in various fields such as water supply (well construction, installation of sanitation facilities and irrigation systems), ecological agriculture, access to education, support for underprivileged communities, environmental protection, and the construction of eco-friendly buildings.

The goal is to take part in the farm’s different activities and contribute to nature protection in Senegal by establishing sustainable organic practices. Your tasks will therefore be varied, allowing you to get involved in activities according to your interests and skills.

Your role

By helping the farm with its daily missions, you will learn new ecological and sustainable farming practices.

You will be able to carry out the following tasks:

  • Plant and water different tree species to support reforestation
  • Prepare garden beds for cultivation
  • Plant vegetables and medicinal plants
  • Take part in caring for the farm animals
  • Help build small houses made of clay and bamboo
  • Build wells and solar pumps
  • Help organize workshops (if you wish)

You may be asked to go to other farms within the organization if needed. As a volunteer, you can choose to focus on a particular area. You work 6 hours a day, Monday to Friday.

This leaves you with free time to enjoy the country, its culture, and its landscapes, so you can fully immerse yourself.
