This humanitarian project in Asia is deployed in 15 schools in Ubud and the surrounding villages, where children are at the beginning of their educational journey and have the opportunity to learn English from a young age. Teaching is free and flexible. By encouraging children to come to school and giving them a few simple English phrases, you may instill a lifelong habit of learning.
Children in Bali are very welcoming, partly due to the natural and authentic kindness of the Balinese people, but also because you will be one of the few foreigners they have met!
By joining the project, you can choose whether you want to participate in the program at the preschools (ages 3-6) or primary schools (ages 7-12).
It is also possible to combine both projects: you will spend two hours in the morning at the preschools and three hours in the afternoon at the primary schools. This combination will allow you to participate in the project for 5 to 6 hours per day.
Duration during the week | Budget total mission |
|---|---|
2 weeks | 890 € |
3 weeks | 1130 € |
4 weeks | 1440 € |
5 weeks | 1690 € |
6 weeks | 1990 € |
8 weeks | 2490 € |
10 weeks | 3410 € |
12 weeks | 3720 € |

The accommodation is located in Pejeng Kaja which has shared rooms for participants including all facilities as well as enough space for them to interact and enjoy their time in Bali. There are two centers in Pejeng which are specially furnished for the participants’ accommodation namely Santi Rahayu and Melati.
It will take about 15-30 minutes by car to reach the center.
There are grocery shops in the village and 24 hours mini-marts are available in Ubud center.
Food
Indonesian food is tasty and diverse and you can expect to experience a myriad of flavours and meals during your stay. Typical dishes included Mie Goreng (fried noodles and vegetables), Nasi Goreng (fried rice and vegetables) or Gado Gado (mixed vegetables with a satay sauce). For those who do not eat meat, Indonesian cooking uses a lot of tofu and tempeh (soybeans), some western dishes would also be available. Breakfasts are varied and include pancakes, fresh fruit, toast etc. Tea, coffee and purified water are available at the house. We do not recommend drinking tap water.
