Discover Argentina with this educational project!
You will contribute to improving the living conditions of local communities while being immersed in the country’s culture.
During this humanitarian trip to a children’s shelter, the organization relies solely on the help of volunteers to play the role of humanitarian facilitators and provide moral and material support to children from disadvantaged neighborhoods who have grown up in difficult conditions.
Volunteers can choose between 4 projects depending on their interests. Volunteers who do not speak Spanish can help with household tasks (cooking, cleaning, tidying), while others can participate in activities with the children, pick them up from school, etc.
It is important to know that the school is located in a sensitive area where many refugee families from neighboring countries live. Poverty is widespread, and children grow up in difficult conditions—domestic violence, alcoholism, drugs, etc. The school we support in this area is the only structure that offers young people a chance to succeed. The local teams work every day to give these children an opportunity and to provide them with a safe environment. However, volunteers will be asked to be cautious outside the school and prepared to face uncomfortable situations in this context of extreme poverty.
– Help facilitators organize activities
– Serve breakfast and lunch to the children
– Decorate the premises
– Bring new ideas for activities and games
Here is an example of a day as a facilitator on the project:
– The first session starts at 8 a.m., when the children arrive at kindergarten.
– The children spend the day doing educational activities and working from booklets or with different resources, while also having time to play and interact with you.
– Between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m., the children have lunch: a hot dish, a piece of fruit, and water.
– After lunch, the children from the first session leave.
– At 12:30 p.m., the children from the second session arrive, and the program described above is repeated.
The schedule is 15 hours per week with both local and international collaborators. You will be expected to show real commitment during your volunteer mission to create a positive experience both for yourself and for the local communities.

Welcome and orientation sessions
Before starting their mission, all volunteers take part in an orientation meeting during which the project manager explains both the general rules of working in Argentina and the specific details of the chosen program. A coordinator will accompany you on your volunteer project in Buenos Aires, where you will organize your schedule with the supervisor. Once on site, you will attend a presentation about the association and the organization of the work.
