Building project in France for groups

This building project in France is ideal for groups who want to get involved in a useful and hands-on project for a week.

Your role

You will carry out various construction tasks to help renovate the orchard and its surroundings. All the necessary equipment is provided, such as gloves, trowels, buckets, wheelbarrows, and more.

Here some missions you can do:

  • Demolish some collapsed walls
  • Recover usable stones
  • Build and restore walls in different areas (orchard, protective walls, etc.)
  • Create a stone staircase to access the orchard area
  • Collect and plant aromatic and edible plants, depending on the right time of year
  • Build a fence around the orchard and vegetable garden using locally sourced wood

In autumn, the tasks are different and focus more on planting and maintaining the mountain orchard.

The tasks include:

  • Setting up the area to create the vegetable garden and orchard
  • Collecting and bringing soil and fertilizer for landscaping
  • Helping organize the layout of the orchard (tree planting areas)
  • Searching for plants in the natural environment (raspberry bushes, thyme, wild rose, rowan)
  • Planting trees and shrubs
  • Gathering wood to protect the area from animals and safeguard the plantations
  • Building wooden fences around the orchards
