Teaching project in a kindergarten in Vietnam

The primary objective of the programme is to assist the teaching staff. You will always need to take care of the children and be there for them. The kindergarten’s needs may evolve. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Helping during mealtimes by serving food and cleaning the dining area.
• Assisting children with routines such as combing their hair, washing their hands, brushing their teeth, etc.
• Supervising them during nap time.
• Teaching basic English concepts, both orally and in writing.
• Helping them practice writing skills.
• Preparing and leading lessons and activities of your choice.
• Engaging in songs, dances, and storytelling activities for children.
• Facilitating learning activities such as fun games, coloring, and other exercises.
• Participating in other activities organized at the kindergarten.
• Preparing assessment exercises.
• Marking exams or assessments.

The accommodation is located on a campus in a university dormitory. As such, it follows certain campus rules, including a night curfew.

We also have a room designated as an “office” with two computers that you can use, as well as a beautiful rooftop where you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, soak up the sun, and chat with others. You also have access to a laundry room, and bed linen is provided.

Meals

Three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are provided every day during the programme. On weekends, only brunch and dinner are served. Meals can also be prepared according to your dietary needs, so please let us know in advance.

• Breakfast: cereals with milk, fruit platters, sandwiches with ham/eggs, or instant noodles.
• Lunch and dinner: typical Vietnamese meals with rice/noodles, pork/beef/fish/seafood, and stir-fried vegetables/soup. Participants are welcome to purchase their own food (a kitchen is available for use).

As the largest city in the country, brimming with energy, innovation, and bustling traffic, Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is the economic heart of Vietnam and the main hub of the southern region. The city also boasts numerous cultural and historical landmarks for you to explore.

The accommodation center is located in the Hoang Viet area, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City. It is approximately a ten-minute drive (2.7 km) from the airport (Tan Son Nhat International Airport) and about fifteen to twenty minutes from the city center.

Additionally, the center is surrounded by various amenities such as ATMs, restaurants, a post office, a swimming pool, a gym, a café, and supermarkets. Therefore, you are free to relax and explore the urban centers during your free time, after programme hours, or on weekends, making the most of your stay!

There are many taxis available around the campus. You can easily catch one from the main road to reach your destination in Ho Chi Minh City.

All necessary services can be found in the city: after all, you’ll be in the country’s economic capital!
