If you enjoy teaching children, you will truly appreciate experiencing this immersive journey in Tanzania as a teacher’s assistant during this humanitarian teaching trip.
The “Family” projects are suitable for children from the age of 4. Our advisors will provide personalized recommendations based on your children’s age, the destination, and the type of mission.
We maintain close relationships with various primary, secondary, and high schools in the Monduli district that are in need of educational support. Community leaders request English language learning programs, as well as tutoring workshops in mathematics and science for middle school students. You will assist local teachers in teaching the basics of English through songs and educational games. You will also be able to supervise children in activities such as crafts, sports, drawing, coloring, writing, and more. Many children here are very young and need attention and activities to stay engaged and mature.
Our program is designed to support the learning of children aged 6 to 14 years. The school opens between 8 AM and 4 PM. Participants will be asked to engage with students for 4 to 6 hours per day, with breaks between lessons and extracurricular activities. Feel free to bring educational materials such as games, colored pencils, erasers, English books, and even clothes and toys to donate. We also recommend bringing photos or small items representing your home country, which you can present during a workshop that will truly broaden the children’s world!
You will also have the opportunity to participate in a sustainable development project a few hours a week (upon request). There are few rainforests in Tanzania due to the climatic conditions. Forestry departments always do their best to protect the little forest area they have. But it is not enough. It has been deemed important for community members to participate in protecting the forest areas and their wildlife. This group supports the local community while strengthening women’s empowerment. Volunteer activities depend on the weather and season: tree planting in the forest or in community spaces, small botany and gardening tasks, workshops with the environmental club for children and adolescents in the region. All profiles are welcome on this humanitarian teaching trip.

You will be accommodated in our local center or in a host family, offering you basic comfort. Western-style toilets are available, but you may also encounter traditional toilets. Sometimes, the water needs to be heated for showers, which are taken with a bucket. The accommodations are located on the campus of a local school, surrounded by green spaces. We have a large garden where you can relax during the day.
Meals are inspired by local cuisine and consist mainly of corn, rice, potatoes, and bananas. Some beef, goat meat, beans, and a few leafy vegetables will help add nutrients to your daily meals. Very few dishes will be served in the typical Western style, so be prepared for a culinary adventure as well.
We recommend that all participants get a local SIM card with a local plan to maintain personal internet access.
During school holidays (the whole month of April, 2 weeks in May, the last week of July, and the whole month of December), classes will be replaced by a holiday program with the children.
