Childcare project in Morocco

The goal of this programme is to assist the local staff in their daily work. You will be placed in various institutions where tasks may vary.

Your tasks, among others, may include:

• Helping children with their homework
• Interacting with children and encouraging cultural exchange
• Introducing young children to the French language
• Preparing and leading lessons and activities of your choice (painting, collage, drawing, music, games, sports)
• Supervising and supporting children in their daily school life

You can join different institutions: nurseries, schools and centers for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. In the nurseries, children are introduced to the French language at a very early age. Their independence, socialization and creative development are encouraged through play.

You will work with the local teams to design and lead educational, language or recreational activities suited to the children’s ages and needs.

You will have an introduction session presenting the general organization, the rules and advice for the smooth running of the programme. A supervisor will then present the programme and your daily tasks.

On the other days of the week, the programme continues. You interact with the children, organize fun activities, supervise meals and prepare lessons with the local staff.

You usually work from 8 am to 4 pm, but this may vary from one project to another or depending on the time of year. If you are required to work at the weekend, you will get a day off during the week.

You therefore have free time at the end of the day and at weekends to enjoy the city and its surroundings. Many activities are available locally and the local teams will be happy to advise you.

You will be accommodated in an apartment in a shared room (1 to 3 people) in the city of Tangier. The apartment includes a common living room with sofas and a television, a bathroom with a shower and toilet, additional separate toilets, a dining room, and a shared kitchen equipped with a washing machine, dryer, oven, stove, coffee maker, kettle, iron, and a large terrace.

The apartment has Wi-Fi Internet access. Towels and bed linen are provided. A cleaner comes every two weeks.

The apartment is located in a residential building with 24-hour security service. Supermarkets, shops, a pharmacy, and a bank are available in the neighborhood. A bus stop and a taxi station are also nearby.

Meals

Meals are not included, but a kitchen is available for you to prepare your own meals.
