The project
Join our community project in Nosy Be, Madagascar, and take this unique opportunity to make a positive impact in the region. Whether through the construction of educational infrastructure, teaching or introducing English to children, you can help make a difference.
The “Family” projects are suitable for children from 4 years old. Our advisors will provide personalized recommendations based on your children’s ages, the destination, and the type of mission.
Construction and renovation mission
This programme aims to support small island communities by building and renovating essential educational facilities.
Participants begin with a meeting with a coordinator to discuss the project needs. They then work at least four hours per day on-site alongside other participants under the supervision of a local coordinator. Tasks include construction, renovation, painting, carpentry, gardening, and more.
Volunteers are encouraged to be cautious when using equipment and to take advantage of the experience to learn.
Teaching mission
As a volunteer teacher, you have the opportunity to interact with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures while bringing in new and modern teaching approaches.
Even without prior experience, you can assist local teachers in various subjects such as mathematics, history, science, etc. English is particularly important to teach, as Nosy Be, where the programme takes place, is a popular tourist destination in Madagascar.
Your role includes:
- lesson planning
- assisting students
- creating engaging activities
- regularly assessing progress
- You must be punctual, respect the local dress code, and actively take part in other activities.
Kindergarten
This programme focuses on teaching English to young children in a kindergarten, recognizing that early learning will benefit their future. The teaching approach is informal, centered on play and interactions. The children, from underprivileged families, will receive quality education through this programme. Activities focus on cognitive, social, and emotional development.
Volunteer responsibilities include assisting children, teaching under the guidance of local teachers, creating engaging activities, and regularly assessing progress.
A typical day includes four hours of teaching at the school, with the option to teach an additional two hours at a community center.
Volunteers should be punctual, creative, patient, and respectful of the local dress code. They are encouraged to actively participate in other activities and fully embrace their learning experience.

Accommodation and meals
The volunteer house, located in Nosy Be, offers various amenities for the comfort of participants. It includes a spacious dining room as well as two lounges, one on the ground floor and another on the first floor, where volunteers can interact. Additionally, a large balcony is available for relaxation, particularly appreciated after hours of activities within the project.
There is also a refrigerator that you can use to store your food and personal drinks.
The meal plan includes three meals per day on weekdays and two per day on weekends. Meals served at the house are family-style and vegetarian, with a combination of Western and Malagasy dishes, mainly based on rice and vegetables. Kitchen facilities are also available for those who wish to cook, or they may choose to dine in local restaurants at their own expense.
If you have specific dietary preferences, allergies, or restrictions, you can supplement the menu with Western foods that better suit your needs.
