WHAT THIS EXPERIENCE BROUGHT ME…
This experience opened my eyes to the impact human beings have on the biodiversity and the environment. While working on the protection of the sea turtles in Sri Lanka, I realized to what extent climate change affects these fragile species. Every night spent patrolling the beaches and protecting the nest reminded me of theurgency to act and to preserve our planet.
WHAT MISSIONS WHERE ASSIGNED ON-SITE ?
On site, my missions were varied and they adapted to the changing needs of sea turtle conservation. Some days, I cleaned the beaches to ensure safe habitats, while on other days, I prepared food and fed the turtles to boost their growth. I also dedicated time to the cleaning the bins and turtles to ensure their health.
DO I RECOMMEND THIS MISSION ?
I highly recommend this project because of the varied and enriching missions it offers. The natures scenery was simply breathtaking, offering a unique experience to the volunteers. In addition, local residents are extremely kind, which makes the experience even more memorable and enjoyable.
… AND FREEPACKERS ?
Yes absolutely. The team is not only attentive, but they also offer projects with NGO’s that are reliable and that advocate for beautiful values. Their professionalism and their commitment contributed to making this adventure an unforgettable and meaningful experience.
