Eco-volunteering on a farm in Kenya

Lucile’s experience on a farm in Kenya.

WHAT THIS EXPERIENCE BROUGHT ME…

On a personal level, this trip really recharged me. The farm is a super peaceful and calm place — it felt great to truly disconnect. It was also very enriching. I was able to immerse myself completely in the local culture, and we were always accompanied by Kenyans during our farm missions and outdoor activities. It allowed for continuous exchange and learning.

Academically, I was able to practice my English and even improve it quite a bit.

WHAT WERE THE TASKS ASSIGNED ON SITE?

The tasks on site involved taking care of domestic animals and doing gardening on the property. We also recorded the wild animals, trees, and plants. Additionally, we created ergonomic harnesses for donkeys, distributed snacks at two schools, and organized activities for the children.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS MISSION?

I 100% recommend this mission because it offers a great balance between volunteering and sightseeing. And the farm is a wonderful place to grow and recharge.
