Emmy in Bali: she shares her experience with sea turtles
Marine animal humanitarian project
Emmy’s Experience on a Marine Animal Humanitarian Project in Bali!
WHAT WERE THE ASSIGNED TASKS?
On site, we fed baby turtles, fed and washed the turtles, created enrichment games for them, and cleaned the turtle tanks. We also caught crabs on the beach to feed to the turtles. In addition, we cleaned the beach and surrounding areas, and created posters to raise awareness among the local population.
WHAT THIS EXPERIENCE BROUGHT ME…
This project taught me discipline, independence, and made me even more aware of environmental issues. It also helped me learn to speak in social settings with people from different backgrounds, allowing me to develop and improve my English. I also discovered a new side of myself that truly loves volunteering.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS PROJECT?
I would recommend this marine animal humanitarian project to anyone who wants to explore the world of volunteering and experience different cultures.
This paradise-like location is ideal for volunteering abroad. The on-site coordinators are amazing, and the activities are varied and take place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. It’s also a great way to meet people from all over the world.
… AND FREEPACKERS?
I would recommend Freepackers for their professionalism and quick responses. Whether before departure, on-site, or afterward, Freepackers was always there for us.
