          Our Climate Action Plan for 2026 \u20132029<\/h2>\n

          Freepackers Travels recognises that climate change is a major environmental and social challenge. We are committed to contributing to the global ambition of limiting global warming to 1.5\u00b0C, in line with the Paris Agreement and the objectives promoted by B Lab. Our main opportunities for action lie in responsible travel management, the selection of our local partners, our internal operations and raising awareness among participants.<\/p>\n

          The Climate Action Plan for 2026\u20132029 has been approved by the management of Freepackers Travels on the 1st of September 2024.<\/p>\n

          Our baseline: the 2024 carbon footprint assessment<\/h3>\n

          In 2024, Freepackers measured its carbon footprint for the first time to establish a baseline for its greenhouse gas emissions. The results of the 2024 carbon footprint assessment, together with subsequent measurements carried out by the company, inform our priorities, objectives and monitoring of this plan.<\/p>\n

          Our four objectives for 2026\u20132029<\/h3>\n

          <\/p>\n

            \n
          • Environmental assessment of partners:<\/strong> incorporate environmental criteria into the assessment of 100% of new host organisations and strategic suppliers before formalising a new partnership.<\/li>\n
          • Internal operations:<\/strong> gradually reduce paper consumption and prioritise digital tools to promote more sustainable practices.<\/li>\n
          • Participant preparation:<\/strong> include information and recommendations on responsible tourism and good environmental practices in the preparation of all participants before their programme begins.<\/li>\n
          • Continuous improvement:<\/strong> review the company\u2019s main environmental impacts annually and identify actions for improvement. We also aim to help participants reduce their carbon footprint by offering more projects in Europe. Progress made since 2024 is presented at the bottom of this page, in the list of new projects in Europe. We plan to expand this offering to give participants more opportunities to make a positive impact through projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Responsibilities and Resources<\/h3>\n

            Management coordinates the implementation of the plan with the participation of management and operations teams. Freepackers allocates human resources, digital tools to reduce paper consumption and facilitate monitoring, and organizational resources by integrating environmental criteria into existing internal procedures.<\/p>\n

            Stakeholder Engagement<\/h3>\n

            We integrate environmental criteria into the assessment of new partners and host organizations, and encourage responsible practices among participants by providing pre-departure information. During the annual management review, we take into account opportunities for improvement identified by employees, host organizations, and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n

            Monitoring and Review<\/h3>\n

            Progress on the plan is assessed at least once a year during the management review, in accordance with the Stakeholder Engagement and Management Review Procedure. This monitoring is based on the 2024 carbon footprint assessment and subsequent measurements to identify opportunities for improvement and update actions when necessary.<\/p>\n

            The plan is reviewed and updated at least every 36 months, or sooner in the event of significant changes to our operations or climate commitments.<\/p>\n

            A Plan Integrated into Our Commitments<\/h3>\n

            The plan is implemented in coordination with our Human Rights Policy, Responsible Marketing, Communication and Public Relations Policy, Stakeholder Engagement and Management Review Procedure, Participant Complaints, Incidents and Feedback Management Procedure, and the Freepackers Charter.<\/p>\n

            • 2027:<\/strong> Integrate a biodiversity education component into 100%<\/strong> of our environmental volunteering and internship programs.<\/li>\n
            • 2030:<\/strong> Publish an annual biodiversity report with the support of scientists and our NGO partners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
