Help Cusqueñian children enrich their lives with your friendliness, warmth and culture. Bring your knowledge and the various skills you have, and in return we guarantee you one of the most satisfying experiences in your life. You will be volunteering and helping the local people, and especially underprivileged kids, through different workshops and activities (this can go from teaching English and writing, leading them through the arts of painting to performing, music, and more).

You can also help make their lives healthier by engaging them in sporting activities. The rewards go both ways, as you will also benefit enormously from learning their culture, their history and their knowledge. This is a unique opportunity for you, to fill a critical gap in education and community development in Cusco, Peru.

All Volunteering projects start on a Monday, so volunteers should plan to arrive to Cusco on Friday, as they have a Welcome Package at Milhouse Hostel which includeds 3 nights accommodation. This is a great introduction to Cusco, and the Scared Valley, as well as the perfect way to start your volunteering project!

PROGRAMS

ART WORKSHOP

Volunteers’ task: In these Workshops, the volunteer will carry out different activities, that allow children develop their creativity and express their feelings through drawings and paintings.

Spanish Level required: Basic

Workload: Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm or 3pm til 7pm. This is the minimum amount of hours, the volunteer has to commit to work. Volunteers who are interested in working more hours, can easily arrange this on location.

SCHOOL SUPPORT IN PERU

Volunteer’s Task: To assist children who are falling behind in their courses, or have learning difficulties.

Spanish Level required: Intermediate

Workload: Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm or 3pm to 7pm. This is the minimum amount of hours volunteers have to commit to work. If volunteers wanted to work more hours, this could be arranged on location. 

READING WORKSHOP

Volunteer’s Task: Help children in reading & comprehension, so they can improve their grades as well as develop a taste for reading books.

Spanish Level required: Intermediate/Advanced

Workload: Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm or 3pm to 7pm. This is the minimum amount of hours volunteers have to commit to work. If volunteers wanted to work more hours, this could be arranged on location. 

PLAY CENTRE

Volunteer’s Task: Play games with the children, with the aim of building their skills and psychomotor development.

Spanish Level required: Basic

Workload: Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm or 3pm to 7pm. This is the minimum amount of hours volunteers have to commit to work. If volunteers wanted to work more hours, this could be arranged on location.

CULTURAL CENTRE, PERU

Volunteer’s Tasks: Work at the Cultural Centre for Adults, teaching a language (English, French or Portuguese), Music (guitar) and Arts (Handicrafts or Clothes Design) as per the volunteer’s skills.
